Fujifilm Prepares for Impending Government VOC Regulations
Fujifilm has been preparing for impeding government regulations in the Printing Industry. These regulations are regarding the Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) levels of blanket wash consumed. VOC’s are compounds that have a high vapor pressure and low water solubility. They are emitted into the atmosphere as gases from either solids or liquids. Canada’s Printing Industry is currently operating with blanket washes that contain high VOC levels. The Canadian government is making an effort to improve environmental conditions and provide a safer atmosphere for workers in the pressroom.
For printers to comply with the impeding regulations, Fujifilm offers a quick solution with their blanket washes. There seems to be industry concern in using products with a lower VOC. However by switching, printers can expect to maintain efficiency while avoiding audit documentation and government regulation follow up. Additional benefits of Fujifilm’s featured blanket washes include:
- Mild odor
- Reduces VOC’s by up to 85%
- Reduces consumption by up to 50%
- Recyclable
- Contains a low VOC of 2.2 lbs/gal
- Non-photo chemically reactive
- Automatic wash for web systems
- Reduces cost
