Fujifilm Takes Home GOLD at Environmental Printing Awards

Fujifilm continues to build upon its commitment to environmental sustainability with two GOLD awards at the annual PrintAction Environmental Printing Awards. Fujifilm won in the Most Environmentally Progressive Hardware technology category for our LH-PJ plate with FLH-Z processor & EcoPro effluent treatment system. Our second GOLD was in the Most Environmentally Progressive Process with our Waste Landfill methane diversion project used to power our plate manufacturing process.

Most Environmentally Progressive Hardware GOLD

From production to press room the LH-PJ plate with FLH-Z processor & EcoPro effluent treatment technology makes an impressive environmental statement.

The Fujifilm FLH-Z processor is designed to dramatically reduce plate development chemistry consumption to lowest levels of the plate developer and manages (without human intervention) chemistry replenishment to maintain consistent development results.

The built in conductivity enhancement technology also automatically adjusts conductivity levels that allows for 2 months or 2,000 square meters of plates to be developed between chemistry changes. In contrast to users required to make changes at 1000 sq meters or at 1 month or less using competitive equipment.

The chemistry that is used fully dissolves the plate coating resulting in a no sludge build up in the processor. In combination with automatic chemistry replenishment significantly reduce human labour intervention on the processor. The waste effluent is then automatically neutralized using the Fujifilm EcoPro system and waste effluent is added to the sewer system, again reducing employee handled to zero.

The EcoPro also allow for waste effluent from the FLH-Z processor is treated on site there is no onsite requirement to bottle, store or handle waste effluent, nor are their increase transportation costs to haul away effluent for treatment by a third party.
